Nice, but boring. Then one fateful day in 1996, everything changed. One of our brilliant friends simply added a caption to an "Emperor's New Clothes" page:
Suddenly, our entire world changed. We realized that adding a few humorous words could COMPLETELY alter the meaning of the coloring book page. But we didn't stop there...
Soon we learned how to change the pictures themselves. We could take things out or draw them in - all by hand, of course.
Finally, we got to the point where we can alter the picture AND add a caption. The original picture had a bug sitting between the puppy's eyes. Twisted Sistah removed it, drew in a lump, brick and lop-sided smile and PRESTO! Instant hilarity.

Remember, that these images HAVE NOT been altered digitally. We scanned the pages directly from the coloring books - that's why some of the edges are shadowy - but all of the work was done by hand. In order to protect our true identities, after we scanned the pages into the computer we removed our signatures (Can you blame us? This stuff, while a laugh riot, is pretty incriminating). But that is the only way these coloring book pages have been altered digitally.
Thus ends the tutorial. We’ll be adding a new picture as often as we can so check back often and tell your friends! We LOVE comments so please let us know what you think. Also, you can email us at thatissowrong@gmail.com. Enjoy!

Hilarity indeed. Very clever.
You're protecting your identity from a coloring book page about an old brick? I hope there is more to it than this. I hope you aren't all empty promises. I'll check back later...
Anonymous - Oh, believe me - it goes WAY beyond old bricks.
I think that Gonzo should have a caption that says, "SHAZAM!!"
I could use some bloody puppies - do you have any bloody puppies?
kay without a t,
Now that you mention it, we DO have some bloody puppies. See the October 2, 2008 posting - in your honor.
